Moonta, a small town west of Adelaide has contributed to the prosperity of the early fledgling economy of South Australia. Children between the age of 10 and 14 were used as child labour to work in the Copper mines to sort the ore. The documentary shows the atrocious work conditions and living conditions of the time in and around the mines at Moonta. It shows the major role played by the Methodist church in providing basic reading and writing skills to these child labourer. Author then thanks the laws against child labour and laws to ensure safety of work place that exist in Australia today.
	Background In June 2005, director and producer Surinder Jain took four months off work, bought a mobile home and set out to travel through Australia. Surinder set out to discover and record places of spirituality and places of piligrimage in Australia. During four months and 32,000 kilometers he met various aboriginal communities, denominational churches, forest spiritual seekers, ancient and mysterious cave temples and place of birth of an Australian saint. Surinder recorded his travel on a video camera and is now producing various documentaries of his experience. Surinder came across a copper mine exhibition in Moonta and takes us back and forth in time.
