Synopsis

Geomantic analysis of Canberra's layout and its impact on Australia.

How emphasis of Britishness is affecting the psyche of the nation, causing discomfort for its non-British migrants and is depriving Australia of the benefits of its diversity.

  

Background

In June 2005, director and producer Surinder Jain took four months off work, bought a mobile home and set out to travel through Australia. Surinder set out to discover and record places of spirituality and places of piligrimage in Australia. During four months and 32,000 kilometers he met various aboriginal communities, denominational churches, forest spiritual seekers, ancient and mysterious cave temples and place of birth of an Australian saint. Surinder recorded his tarvel on a video camera and is now producing various documentaries of his experience.

Surinder met Steven Guth in a Buddhist monastry in Bundanoon and the two joined together to produce Vastu  of Canberra.
